THE TRAGEDY OF JULIUS CAESAR WRITING ASSIGNMENT
“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” (JE Dalberg)
Does power corrupt the main characters in Julius Caesar? Consider the ways –both good and bad—that power affects three of the main characters in Julius Caesar. (Choose from Caesar, Antony, Cassius, Octavius, or Brutus) Think about these questions.
Do these men become dishonest because of power or does power makes them more noble?
Does power destroy the characters or make them successful?
Is the search for power the main motivation for each man’s actions?
