The Fox Richmond/Loveland Distributing sponsored competition centers on student-produced public service announcements that discourage underage drinking. Goochland High School senior Matt Schwartz had his 20-second entry “Memories” chosen as one of four finalists among the 86 entries received from students across Central Virginia. Matt and the other finalists have already received a 32GB iPod Touch, a $50 Apple Store gift card and a $50 Apple iTunes gift card.
Each finalist was profiled this week on the Fox Richmond “News at 10.” The more in-depth interviews with the finalists, as well as interviews with community/school representatives, including Dr. Underwood, will air on December 26. (The station’s reps weren’t sure what time it would air so check your local listings.)
The winner of the competition will be announced during the NFL’s NFC Championship Game on January 24 and will receive a Sony HD professional Mini DV camcorder, the complete Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 software package, and the chance for their PSA to air during the NFC title game.
